
Peter Donnelly is a professor of public health medicine at the Bute Medical School at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, and also works extensively with the World Health Organization on issues including obesity, health inequalities, and violence reduction. His former roles include deputy chief medical officer with the Scottish Government; director of public health and health policy at Lothian Health of the National Health Service; and director of public health with Iechyd Morgannwg Health Authority in Swansea. A graduate of the University of Edinburgh Medical School, Professor Donnelly has also worked in a variety of medical specialties, chairs national steering groups on clinical leadership and public health training, and serves on the editorial boards of Public Health and the Journal of Public Health Medicine. His research on resuscitation, public health, and related matters has been published widely.
