Leah Devlin

Leah Devlin is the Gillings School of Global Public Health Professor of the Practice at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In this position, Dr. Devlin is working to increase collaboration between Gillings and the practice community to develop approaches to solving public health problems. She is also a health consultant to various organizations, having worked with the CDC, RTI International, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She previously served as director of public health for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services from 2001 to 2009. Dr. Devlin is a member of the board of directors of the national Public Health Accreditation Board and the CDC Foundation as well as the Duke Raleigh Hospital Advisory Board and the North Carolina Center for Public Health Quality. She is past president of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, the North Carolina Association of Local Health Directors, and the North Carolina Public Health Association. She received her BS, DDS, and MPH degrees all from the University of North Carolina.
