
Rosemary A. Stevens is a DeWitt Wallace Distinguished Scholar in Social Medicine and Public Policy at Weill Cornell Medical College, Department of Psychiatry, and the Stanley I. Sheerr Professor Emeritus in Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Stevens began her career as a historian/policy analyst and has chaired or been a member of national policy committees on subjects as diverse as civil rights in health, traumatic brain injury, and Medicare as a social contract. She has published numerous books and articles. Her most recent book is The Public-Private Health Care State: Essays on the History of American Health Care Policy. Dr. Stevens has a degree in English language and literature from Oxford University and holds an MPH degree in health services administration and policy and a PhD degree in epidemiology, both from Yale University.
