State Responses to Rising Prescription Costs

The Milbank State Leadership Network and the Peterson-Milbank Program for Sustainable Health Care Costs hosted a virtual briefing on July 22 (2:00-3:30 PM ET) exploring how state leaders are taking action to lower prescription drug costs. This session highlighted a range of state policy strategies, such as legislative reforms to better regulate pharmacy benefit managers and lower the price of prescription drugs, including a study of Canadian prescription drug importation programs. Panelists included Milbank Program Officer Rachel Block, executive and legislative state health leaders and a national expert from the National Association for State Health Policy.
