Join the Milbank State Leadership Network and Center for Health Care Strategies on September 1st, 12-1:15 pm ET for a virtual briefing on how states are using innovative state Medicaid strategies to support perinatal care. Value-based payment and alternative financing models are increasingly being used by states to improve maternal and infant outcomes. These Medicaid financing approaches reward care coordination, quality, and whole-person support rather than paying for individual services. Some states are also using innovative Medicaid financing to support rural hospitals and their obstetrics units. This session will feature speakers from Tennessee, who will discuss TennCare’s Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) funded Perinatal Care model, Ohio, who will cover their Comprehensive Maternal Care (CMC) program and Wyoming who will talk about their early-stage work, using enhanced incentive and infrastructure payments to support maintaining and reopening labor and delivery services in its critical access hospitals.
