Paul D. Cleary

Paul D. Cleary is editorial director of the Fund. He is also the Anna M.R. Lauder Professor of Public Health and dean of the Yale School of Public Health, a member of the Institute of Medicine, and a Distinguished Fellow of AcademyHealth. In 2002 he received the Distinguished Investigator Award from the Academy for Health Services Research and Health Policy (now AcademyHealth). Dr. Cleary is principal investigator (PI) of one of two Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems studies funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to develop survey protocols for collecting and reporting information from consumers regarding their health care; PI and director of the Yale Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS; and PI of the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center. He earned MS and PhD degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
