Renia Dotson, MD, MPH, MPA, is a State Epidemiologist and Director of the Center for Public Health Transformation at the Mississippi State Department of Health. As a general and colon/rectal surgeon with 20 years of experience, she has held leadership positions on various boards, including the Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure and the Mississippi Board of Nursing. She also chairs the Board of Regents at the University of the South. Renia earned her undergraduate degree from the University of the South, her medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, and a MPH and MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is board-certified in general and colon/rectal surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Medical Association. Renia resides in Greenville, Mississippi, with her husband, Dr. Wayne Dotson.
