Leadership Program Recruitment Launches

As state health policy leadership becomes more important and more challenging, the Milbank Memorial Fund is launching recruitment for the 2025-2026 cohorts of the Milbank Memorial Fund’s two leadership programs for legislative and executive branch government officials who are committed to improving population health:

  • The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP), an opportunity for rising leaders in state, large-county, and large-city governments

These programs, all costs of which are covered by Milbank, provide a unique opportunity for participants to engage with colleagues from across the country; enhance their leadership skills; learn from experts about pressing health policy topics; and improve their capacity to advance population health policy in their communities.

With the goal of creating cohorts that foster learning across the political and geographic spectrum, Milbank is seeking applicants for both cohorts who have:

  • A commitment to improving the health of everyone in their community and addressing health disparities
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm about engaging with others
  • Roles of program or policy influence in legislative or executive branches of government
  • Interest in acquiring new knowledge and sharing their own subject matter expertise on key areas of population health policy and program administration
  • Interest in self-reflection and development of new insights

We invite qualified government officials to apply or to nominate exceptional candidates in their state. The application deadline is June 13, 2025. See the MFP and ELP pages for more information on the programs and how to apply.
