Miguel Marino  

Miguel Marino, PhD, is a first-generation Mexican American scientist and associate professor of biostatistics in the Department of Family Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Dr. Marino is also co-director of the Primary Care Equity in Latinos (PRIMER) Center. He received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from UCLA and his PhD from Harvard University.

Dr. Marino maintains a health disparities and health policy research program that focuses on the intersection of primary care, public health and biostatistics. His research utilizes novel statistical methodology to address complexities associated with the use of electronic health records (EHRs) for critical community and primary care research questions in health policy, health disparities, among others. He also serves on the National Advisory Committee on Racial, Ethnic and Other Populations for the Census Bureau. In 2022, Dr. Marino was elected as a member to the National Academy of Medicine.
