Margarita Hart, CCHW, the executive director of Indiana Community Health Workers Association and Esperanza Ministries, has been a community health worker (CHW) for over 30 years both overseas and in the United States. Margarita is actively involved in crafting local, state, and national public health strategies, providing counsel and consulting services to community leaders. As a multilingual and certified medical interpreter, she facilitates culturally appropriate policy improvement and understanding in immigrant communities. Margarita’s role as a board-certified chaplain specializing in end-of-life care is a testament to her dedication to serving the immigrants in central Indiana. Furthermore, as an ACC-accredited leadership coach, she provides consulting for project development and is a professional development coach, helping develop immigrant leaders and CHWs.
