Lusine Poghosyan

Lusine Poghosyan, PhD, MPH, RN, is an internationally recognized nurse scientist, the Stone Foundation and Elise D. Professor of Nursing at the School of Nursing, Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Mailman School of Public Health, and Executive Director of the Center for Healthcare Delivery Research and Innovations at Columbia University. Her research produces evidence to support the optimal use of nurse practitioners as primary care providers and build primary care teams to assure patients particularly racial and ethnic minorities and those living in underserved areas have access to timely, safe, and high-quality primary care. In addition, Dr. Poghosyan serves on the AcademyHealth Board of Directors. Dr. Poghosyan received her first nursing degree at Erebuni State Medical College in Armenia, an MPH at the American University of Armenia, and a PhD at the University of Pennsylvania.
