Amanda Spishak-Thomas

Amanda Spishak-Thomas, PhD, MSW, LCSW, is an assistant research professor at the Center for State Health Policy at Rutgers University. She studies how Medicaid provides scaffolding for low-income families, focusing on the intersection of long-term care and intergenerational transfers of wealth. She is also a principal investigator for New Jersey’s Medicaid 1115 Waiver Demonstration, leading the Managed Long-Term Services and Supports and Maternity portfolios. Dr. Spishak-Thomas earned her PhD and MSW from the Columbia School of Social Work and her bachelor’s degree in social work from Seattle University.
