Webinar on Using Hospital Financial Analysis to Inform Policies on Affordability and Access

Hospital spending is outpacing overall health care expenditure growth. And there have been unprecedented changes in the structure of health care ownership and delivery. Understanding the facts about hospitals’ financial condition — their financial needs and cost drivers — is of increasing importance to policymakers as they develop policy to improve the affordability of health care and monitor community access to care.

A Peterson-Milbank for Sustainable Health Care Program webinar, Leveraging Hospital Financial Analyses to Inform State Policy, on April 9, 2024, offered a look at the recently published Guide to Understanding Hospital Spending through Financial Analysis, and a discussion with state leaders who are using this data to inform their understanding of their health care markets and potential policy responses.
