Chief Medical Officer, Delaware Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance
Krishna Upadhya is the Chief Medical Officer for the Delaware Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance (DMMA). Her work is motivated by a desire to promote improved health outcomes in communities that are under resourced and marginalized and a belief in the importance of using evidence and policy to drive meaningful change. Prior to joining DMMA, Krishna’s career combined patient care, research, teaching and advocacy in academic and non-profit organizations. Her research and health policy perspectives have been featured in diverse outlets including the Washington Post, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and National Public Radio.
Krishna earned her medical degree with honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine and completed her residency in general pediatrics and fellowship in adolescent medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University.
