Health Commissioner, Oklahoma State Department of Health
Keith Reed, RN, MPH, CPH, is the Oklahoma Commissioner of Health, bringing 28 years of service to the state, including 23 years in leadership roles within the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Keith is recognized for his effective leadership and mentorship and understanding of public health’s role in the broader health care system. His focus is on establishing public health as a foundational partner for health care providers and communities and driving Oklahoma’s economic prosperity through health improvement.
Keith holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeastern State University and a Master of Public Health from the University of Oklahoma. He is a registered nurse and certified in public health. Beyond his public health career, Keith serves as a Colonel in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, specializing in aeromedical evacuation and medical group command, with multiple tours supporting Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
