State Representative, Mississippi
Representative Tamarra Grace Butler-Washington is a Jackson, Mississippi native and a graduate of Jim Hill High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Alcorn State University, a master’s in public administration from The University of Southern Mississippi, and a certificate in political management from The George Washington University.
Elected in 2023, she represents House District 69 in the Mississippi House of Representatives, serving on the Apportionments & Elections, Ethics, Municipalities, Public Health & Human Services, and Universities and Colleges Committees.
Her career spans government, public health, and nonprofit leadership, with service at the Mississippi State Senate, City of Jackson, Mississippi State Department of Health, Mississippi Health Advocacy Program, and the American Cancer Society.
Grace is active in numerous civic and professional organizations. She is married to Brian D. Washington, and they have one son, Brian Elex. Guided by faith, service, and leadership, she remains committed to improving the lives of Mississippians.
