Robert L. Phillips, Jr., MD, MSPH, the founding executive director of the American Board of Family Medicine’s Center for Professionalism & Value in Health Care, conducts primary care research to inform clinical care and policies that support it. He also practices family medicine in a community-based residency program in Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Phillips is a professor of family medicine at Georgetown University and Virginia Commonwealth University and consults at local, state, national, and international levels.
