Chief Medical Officer, MassHealth
Clara Filice, MD, MPH, MHS, is the Chief Medical Officer for MassHealth, overseeing clinical policy and programs for 2.2 million MassHealth members. In this role, she implements MassHealth’s quality and equity incentive programs and promotes population health through clinical and value-based care initiatives. Prior to joining state government, she held leadership roles in clinical innovation, federal health policy, and child health research and advocacy. Clara earned her MD and MPH degrees and completed pediatric residency at Northwestern and was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar at Yale. She has practiced as a pediatric hospitalist and a general pediatrician.
