State Senator, Virginia
Senator Mamie Locke has served in the Virginia Senate for over 22 years. Prior to this service, she was a member of Hampton City Council and Mayor. Mamie is chairman of the Rules Committee and member of Education and Health, Finance and Appropriations, Commerce and Labor, and General Laws. She is also a member of the Joint Commission on Health Care and the Commission on Women’s Health, where she chairs the Growing in Grace Subcommittee. A graduate of Tougaloo College (BA) and Atlanta University (MA, PhD), Mamie is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Hampton University.
