State Senator, Indiana
Senator Spencer Deery was elected to the Indiana State Senate in 2022 in his first bid for elected office. A Republican, he represents Senate District 23, which includes Fountain, Parke, Vermillion, and Warren counties, as well as portions of Montgomery and Tippecanoe counties.
He currently serves on five committees: Education & Career Development, Commerce & Technology, Criminal Law & Corrections, Utilities, and Public Health. He also represents Indiana on the Midwest Higher Education Compact executive committee, working with other states to expand access and reduce the cost of higher education.
Deery earned a bachelor’s degree in communications, with minors in business and political science, as well as a master’s degree from the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at The George Washington University, where he graduated at the top of his class.
