Date: November 18, 2025, 2:00-3:00 p.m. ET

Fewer people can afford needed health care, increasing pressure on states to take meaningful action. Join us for a webinar to explore how states can garner compelling data insights from their All-Payers Claims Databases (APCD) to inform health care affordability initiatives. Such analyses can help states to:

  • understand health care spending trends and patterns;
  • propel data-driven policymaking;
  • communicate with the public and build stakeholder support for policy change, and
  • hold major health care players accountable for rising health care spending.

The webinar, hosted by the Peterson-Milbank Program for Sustainable Health Care Costs and Bailit Health, will feature recommendations from a forthcoming report, Best Practices in Health Care Claims Data Analysis to Inform State Action and Control Costs. The webinar will spotlight examples of state APCD data dashboards and analyses from Rhode Island and Maine on topics such as hospital price variation and pharmaceutical and primary care spending.

Speakers will include:

  • Michael Balit, President, Bailit Health
  • Jessica Mar and Caitlin Otter, Consultants, Bailit Health
  • David Auerbach, Senior Director for Research and Cost Trends, Massachusetts Health Policy Commission
  • Cory King, Health Insurance Commissioner, Rhode Island
  • Katie Senechal, Senior Analyst, Maine Office of Affordable Health Care
  • Rachel Block, Program Officer, Milbank Memorial Fund (moderator)
