Chief Medical Officer, New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services
Jonathan Ballard, MD, MPH, MPhil, is Chief Medical Officer at the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NH DHHS) and a clinical associate professor at Dartmouth College in the Geisel School of Medicine. Jonathan leads the clinical approach at the NH DHHS, where he has served for the past eight years. During the pandemic, he partnered with a large team of public health professionals that culminated in the state having the lowest mortality rate in the continental United States. Post-pandemic, he spearheaded a new primary care and prevention model of care in New Hampshire to address the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases and unmet health-related needs.
