State Medical Director, Iowa Department of Health & Human Services
Dr. Kruse joined Iowa Health & Human Services (HHS) as the state medical director in 2022. Prior to joining HHS, Dr. Kruse served as the medical director of Occupational Health at MercyOne in Des Moines. Dr. Kruse is board certified in Family Medicine and completed his residency training program at Rutgers University. Dr. Kruse prioritizes working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders in public health and preventative medicine to improve the health and resiliency of individuals, families, and communities.
